I think the Atlantic League is great. I enjoy seeing young prospects or experieced players trying to make it to or back to the majors. Some people get upset when a player gets a contract with a major league team because it may cause their team to loose, but that is the whole purpose of the league, giving players that chance. You see players giving 110% and being rewarded for it. One of my favorite players was Patterson. I enjoyed seeing him come in at the 9th inning and throw the heat and seal the win. He got a shot with the Yankees and then came Weatherby. He picked up where Scott left off. Now Charlie has his shot and there will be another player taking his place. I know some people think I am strange, but I would rather see an Atlantic League game than a professional game. That is why I am a season ticket holder. Go Barnstormers and I hope you get another shot at the majors Jeremy.
thanks for the post scott, i feel the same way. i think this league is great for what it is set up for. lots of guys get another shot. thanks for stopping by.
I enjoy the league very much. It's a great way to have a few beers, watch some baseball and relieve the daily stresses of life by yelling at a few blind umps. Last year was an amazing season for the Barnstormers. Congratulations on a successful turn out statistically and record wise. 2007 should be great! Now with the added new river rivals the York Revolutions, I think everyone is anticipating a few heated battles. Especially now with your upgraded new firecracker manager who I'm sure will be tossed from a few games himself. I've already heard a catchy saying starting to catch on around here which is "YORK SUCKS!"
Best of luck to you Jeremy! Like many fans, I hope your experience has also been a good one!
I am looking forward to playing York, I think we will have a really good rivalry as well. Thanks for the congrats, and hopefully you will enjoy the games this year just as much.
Being such a big baseball fan, I love the Atlantic League for many reasons-some a little selfish. 1) It's great to see profession baseball in Lancaster, which is something I thought I'd never see. 2)As an indepent league, it really feels like it's Lancaster's team. As a Phillies and Orioles fan, I would have a problem with a team affiliated with say the Mets or Yankees in our city. 3) I'm fortunate enough to live just a 10 minute walk away from the stadium 4) It's good quality baseball. There is some good young talent mixed with some veterans. Who ever thought players like Juan Gonzales, an MVP in the majors, would ever play on a field in Lancaster? 5) Most of all, I like the Atlantic League because WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!
Congrats on that and the MVP. Look forward to seeing you again this summer. Good Luck!
